Bean Genie likes to source products from small local companys. We like to see the local economy thrive and prefer quality over quantity.

Bean Genie also supports farmers markets for their representation of small primary producers and until Dec 2004, was involved in Templestowe farmers market under the banner of Regional Farmers Markets Victoria. We also support charities throughout the year. The current charities we are supporting are:

• Médecins Sans Frontières
• The Lost Dogs’ Home

Previous charities include:

• Australian Conservation Foundation
• The Wilderness Society

Environmental Conscience

Bean Genie aims to be a sustainable trader by:

• using organically grown coffee beans
• using paper cups, not polystyrene
• composting spent coffee grounds
• recycling plastics
• using plantation pine biodegradable stirrers, not plastic spoons
• constantly looking into other ways to improve the environmental impact of the business
